Over 10,000 signatures have been added to e-petitions calling for key figures in the cover-up of Hillsborough to be stripped of their knighthoods.

Following the release of the Hillsborough Independent Panel's report, the Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson wrote to Sir Bob Kerslake - chair of the Honours Forfeiture Committee - and requested the honours for Sir Irvine Patnick and Sir Norman Bettison be revoked following their roles in the aftermath of the tragedy.

E-petitions have been set up on Liverpool City Council's website for people to back the Mayor's request - and you can add your signature now by clicking here>>
