Luis Suarez returns to the scene of one of the finest hours of his career so far today aiming to help Liverpool begin climbing away from the 'false position' he believes they're currently occupying in the Barclays Premier League.

The Reds take on Norwich City at Carrow Road this afternoon for a fixture in which Suarez fired his only hat-trick for the club in a 3-0 win last season.

And while the 25-year-old would love to enjoy a repeat of that outcome once again, he insists any win will do as Liverpool look to start picking up the points their encouraging performances have deserved this season.

Suarez told Liverpoolfc.com: "It is a false position for a club like Liverpool. We've had four or five games so far and we've already come up against opponents who are battling it out at the top of the league and have hopes of winning the title.

"It's disappointing, those results have been poor, especially when you consider we were at home, but we have had a new manager who has been making changes in the style of play and at the club and I think it takes time to adapt to those changes.

"But from this moment on we need to start picking up the points we need to help us fulfil all our objectives."

Suarez is set to return to the starting line-up after being rested for the midweek Capital One Cup victory over West Bromwich Albion.

The No.7 is anticipating a tough test against a side one point and position above Liverpool in the fledgling table, but he's confident they collect the three points.

"We know that they will be tough opponents and that they are a strong side at home," he said.

"But we know that we need to start earning some victories in the league and it's a good opportunity for us to return to winning ways and with that gain the confidence to help us to start picking up points as the season progresses."

Naturally, Suarez has fond memories of April's visit to Carrow Road - but he acknowledges those recollections will count for nothing come kick off.

"I think it's one of the best [moments] of my career because they were three great goals," he said. "Scoring my first hat trick in the Liverpool shirt means I'll always remember it and it will stay with me forever.

"It was very special, because a hat trick in the Premier League is great, especially when it's with Liverpool, and it was against Norwich the team we play next.

"But that's all in the past now and although I have some good memories of that game it's all about Saturday now, which is a difficult test I won't be spending any time looking back on last season's game."

Though it's just a mere five months on from his Carrow Road treble, Suarez isn't expecting any special treatment from the Norwich defence today.

"I don't think so, because Norwich have plenty to think about with the entire Liverpool team," he said. "We're a great side with lots of good players, not just Luis Suarez or any other individual."
