'Playing at Anfield is different'
Former Reds forward Ryan Babel says playing at Anfield is a 'different experience' and revealed that he remembers his three-and-a-half years with Liverpool fondly.
The Dutchman was signed by Rafael Benitez in the summer of 2007 and went on to score 22 goals in 146 appearances for the club before leaving for Hoffenheim in 2011.
Now the 25-year-old is back at Ajax, the club where he first began his career, having signed a one-year contract with the Amsterdam side at the beginning of September.
Babel has not forgotten his time with the Reds, however. "I had a great time in England playing for Liverpool," the Holland international told FIFA.com.
"I think it could have been much greater if I was guided better but I have no regrets choosing to play for such a big club.
"I wish things could have been different but I still have a big connection with the club and the fans and I still have my house there."
The forward, who struck seven Champions League goals for the Reds, explained that his favourite Liverpool moments were matches in Europe's top club competition.
"The best Anfield games were the Champions League evenings, for me, as the whole stadium gave a full energy to the team," Babel added.
"Playing at Anfield is a different experience. The 'You'll Never Walk Alone' anthem at the beginning of every home game is something you have to feel when you enter the pitch at Anfield."
