Brendan on phenomenal fans
Brendan Rodgers has paid a special tribute to the Liverpool supporters for the 'phenomenal support' they have given him since he arrived at Anfield.
After guiding the Reds to their first top-flight win of the season at Carrow Road on Saturday, the boss was quick to praise the travelling Kop, who gave the team fantastic support from the first minute to the last.
"The one thing that has always been behind me since I walked in, has been the supporters," said Rodgers.
"They have been absolutely phenomenal – especially for a young manager to come into a club of this status and standing.
"They recognise what I'm trying to do.
"This is a group of supporters who have been educated for a number of years so they understand when the manager is trying to play football and the Liverpool way, they appreciate that. They appreciate the work the team has been doing and that we have had no luck. So, I've been fine.
"The performance of the players has been brilliant. Our performance level has been excellent and day on day, game on game, the idea of what we are trying to do has come through.
"On Saturday we created our chances and opportunities and before we haven't done that.
"I would be a lot more worried if I was going to the training ground seeing the work on the field and seeing the players give their all but in games it saying nothing of how we work.
"But that's not been the case. Thankfully I never get too carried away when we win and never too disappointed when we lose."
