And following the Reds' impressive victory at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon, the stats from our clash against Norwich make for enjoyable reading.

On a day when the Reds played exactly 700 passes (over twice the amount Norwich managed) Joe Allen was the stand-out player on the ball.

The Wales international hit 95 passes with 95.8 per cent accuracy and the way in which he kept the Reds ticking over with short, accurate distribution is reflected in the stats, as just 6.3 per cent of his balls were played long.

As was the case against Manchester United a week ago, Allen and Steven Gerrard saw more of the ball than the rest. The skipper took 114 touches while Allen took marginally less with 107.

Only Mikel Arteta, Yaya Toure and Michael Carrick have played more passes than Allen in the Barclays Premier League so far this season (461) while Gerrard sits sixth in the list of total passes (420).

Hat-trick hero Luis Suarez fired six attempts at goal over the 90 minutes. Three of those flew past John Ruddy to make him the first Liverpool player in history to net consecutive trebles in the same away fixture, while the other three were off target.

His tally for the season now sits at five and puts him a goal behind the league's leading scorer Demba Ba.

At the back, Daniel Agger made nine clearances while his central-defensive partner Martin Skrtel played the ball to safety on seven occasions.

To their right, league debutant Andre Wisdom was keen to get on the ball, taking more touches than any other Liverpool defender (92) and playing more passes (72) than the rest. The 18-year-old also recorded an effort on goal and won 100 per cent of his aerial duels.

The powerful full-back also launched himself into three tackles and won each of them.

Nuri Sahin was in impressive form once again alongside Allen and Gerrard. Playing in the more advanced role and for only 66 minutes meant the Turkey international saw less of the ball than his central-midfield partners (69 touches and 55 passes).

However, the threat he posed during his time on the field is reflected in the statistics as he fired five crosses into the Norwich penalty area and produced three shot assists for his teammates.
