We popped to Melwood to chat to midfielder Nuri Sahin as Liverpool prepare to resume Europa League action against Udinese on Thursday.

Here is what the Turkey international had to say about the game, the Champions League, his quest for full fitness and more:

Sahin on Udinese...

It won't be easy. They lost a few good players but they are still a good team. It will be a different style of football because they play with three defenders and five in midfield. It will be another experience for us to play against a team with this style, and Italian teams are always difficult.

Sahin on the Europa League...

Of course the Champions League is something special. If you play once in the Champions League you want to play always in the Champions League. But we're in the Europa League and that is always very interesting after the group stages of the Champions League, because there will be some very good teams in the pot. It is a great tournament. It's a European cup and we want to go as long as possible - for me it's very important.

Sahin on settling in...

I heard before that Liverpool was a huge club and all I've seen has confirmed that Liverpool is a really big club, so nothing has surprised me. I'm very happy to be here. I feel good, I am getting used to my new teammates, my new club. I'm on the pitch and the results are coming now.

Sahin on his fitness...

When I started playing against Arsenal I wasn't at the top of my capacity and I think Brendan Rodgers saw that. He gave me some time in training to get my speed up, to get my match fitness up. Now I'm fit and with every game I become fitter. I am sure if I improve the capacity of my heart rate and my speed I can help the team.

Sahin on victory over West Brom last week...

These games are very important for the young guys because we were against a Premier League club and it was just one game - if we lost we were out of the cup. There was a little bit of pressure on the young guys and they did very well. Everyone enjoyed that night, inside and outside the pitch. It was great experience for the young guys.

Sahin on scoring his first LFC goals in that game...

It's always special to score, but it was special because they were my first for Liverpool Football Club. To score the winner in front of our fans was a nice experience and I hope it will go on like this and I will score a lot of goals.

Sahin on results...

The important thing is that we have an idea of football. If you look on the pitch you can see that we have our own style, one that we try to bring on the pitch every week. Of course the results weren't there in the first games, but I watched the game against Manchester City and we played really well, and everyone knows that against Manchester United we should have won that game. Just the Arsenal game we weren't at our level. The rest of the games we've played well, dominated the games. Now with West Brom and Norwich we're getting the results. We have to dominate the field, dominate with the passing, and then the results will come.
