Having notched his first Barclays Premier League win as Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers is looking to follow it up with his first league win at Anfield against Stoke today.
Stoke come in to this game with confidence having beaten Swansea 2-0 at the Britannia Stadium last Saturday thanks to a brace from former Liverpool front man Peter Crouch.
Having played well but failed to win in previous league games this season, last week saw Rodgers's team get the rewards their hard work and good play deserved.
Luis Suarez's hat-trick naturally grabbed the headlines but throughout the side there were a number of impressive performances. The Uruguayan striker was particularly good and he will be top of many people's lists when it comes to making their goalscorer bets this weekend.
Suarez is the 7/2 favourite with Paddy Power to score first in this game and 10/11 to score anytime. He has scored four goals in four appearances against Stoke and on current form he looks good to add to that total.
Although Stoke have proven a tough nut to crack in recent years, it has been a long time since they've enjoyed success at Anfield...1959 to be exact.
Since then, Liverpool have beaten Stoke 29 times in 33 home games, with just the four draws.
History is very much in favour of the home side and Liverpool are 1/2 to win this game. After the recent goalscoring exploits against Norwich and BSC Young Boys, it's clear Rodgers's players have found their scoring touch.
Stoke have conceded just five goals in six games this season and even away from home they are difficult to break down. However, the passing and movement of the home players could cause a lot of problems to a backline which is more powerful than it is nimble.
Liverpool one goal at 13/10 with Paddy Power could even prove to be a cautious bet if Suarez and co are in the same clinical form as they were at Carrow Road.
That first league win will have taken some pressure off and though Stoke won't make it easy, Rodgers's players have the skill, the belief and the hard-working attitude to take all three points.
