Gerrard: Why I can improve
Steven Gerrard has established himself as one of Liverpool's greatest ever players over the last 14 years - but he believes he can get even better working under Brendan Rodgers.
The No.8 has scored an incredible 152 goals for the Reds - putting him eighth in our all-time goalscorers list ahead of any other traditional midfielder.
He has inspired FA Cup and Champions League trophy wins among others and is captain of his country, but in his new book 'My Liverpool Story' Gerrard speaks of his belief that, even at 32, he can get better under Rodgers.
Asked about that statement in an interview with Football Focus, the skipper said: "Yes, I do, because he's got a different philosophy and way of playing to other managers I've worked for.
"There are certainly things I can still improve on by working with him. I'm enjoying working with him on a daily basis, and I think my form recently has been really good.
"I'm enjoying my football, and I'm really looking forward to the next two years I'm contracted for and hopefully more, to add some chapters to a career I'm really proud of."
Liverpool claimed their first win of the league campaign as they hit Norwich for five last weekend.
They currently sit 14th in the table but Gerrard thinks the top four is still a realistic ambition.
Asked to state the club's aims for 2012-13, he replied: "Top four and try and win a trophy.

"We're six games in, we should have a few more points than we've got, but I believe now the win against Norwich will be the catalyst to push us on."
Liverpool face Stoke at home on Sunday - then host Reading after the international break.
"They are good opportunities but they're also tough games as well," added Gerrard. "If I'm realistic, they are games we should be winning, certainly at home.
"We've been waiting a while for this first win but playing well for a number of weeks. If we can continue that I'm sure we can take maximum points from those games."
If selected against Stoke Gerrard will make his 595th appearance for the Reds.
So did he ever think he'd one day approach 600 games?
"No, not at all," he said. "The dream for me was always just to play once, to be able to say I'd played for the team I supported as a young boy.
"To be closing in on 600 games for Liverpool and nearly 100 caps - if someone had said I'd be there at 32 I'd have bitten their hand off."
Gerrard also spoke about his disciplinary record - admitting that there was a time when he could be rash on the field.
"It was a part of my game I had to work on," he said. "I have done some nasty challenges that I'm not proud of. It's part of learning to become a player, part of improving, and I think my record with red and yellow cards now is very good in general."
