Liverpool defender Martin Kelly has been nominated for a prestigious sports award.

Liverpool's No.34 has been nominated for the Rising Star accolade at this year's Northwest Football Awards.

The England international is up against the likes of Everton striker Apostolos Vellios and Blackpool starlet Tom Ince.

Kelly follows Martin Skrtel who has been nominated as a potential Premier League Player of the Year at the Northwest Football Awards.
