Join Anfield legend Alan Kennedy on the Santa Dash on Sunday, December 2, in Liverpool city centre.

For the second year running, Liverpool FC are supporting the RunLiverpool Santa Dash in partnership with ITV Text Santa as the city aims to reclaim the Santa Challenge Title from Las Vegas.

The official launch has just been made for the Santa Dash 2012 and everyone is encouraged to take part and join in the fun.

Organisers are hopeful that more than 13,000 people will take part in this year's event and, in the process, help Liverpool set the Guinness World Record for the 'Largest Santa Gathering' when the race takes place on December 2.

Reds legend Alan Kennedy has already confirmed that he will be running the race once again and he will be joined by Scouse boxer David Price, Olympic swimmer Steve Parry and a host of TV personalities.

Walton MP Steve Rotherham said: "The Santa Dash is a great event for Liverpool. I'm confident we can win the title back from Vegas and and break the Guinness World Record."

Liverpool boxer and Olympic hero Natasha Jonas is also taking part in the Santa Dash and added: "Liverpool is a very active city and we have a way of becoming world beaters at whatever we turn our hand to.

"The amount of support myself and other home grown athletes got during the games was second to none and really overwhelming at times.

"With so many charities benefiting I know the people of the city will come together, as always, and make this a success.

"The run is a fun event for the whole family to get involved in regardless of age or ability. I'm honored to be apart of it and would urge everyone to get involved, the competitor in me would also like to see us get our record back from Las Vegas as well, so let's do this."
