Brendan Rodgers has taken a youthful squad to Moscow as Liverpool prepare to take on Anzhi Makhachkala in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Reds departed John Lennon airport for Russia shortly after noon on Wednesday, with 19 players making the journey.

The likes of Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez have been rested and left at Melwood as they prepare for Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash at Chelsea, while Academy youngsters Jack Robinson, Adam Morgan, Conor Coady and Stephen Sama all made the plane.

Spanish starlet Daniel Pacheco is also in the travelling party after his impressive two-goal showing for the U21s at Wolves on Monday night, and Jon Flanagan is back after injury.
