Sterling and Jonjo get England call
Raheem Sterling and Jonjo Shelvey have been named in the England squad for the Three Lions' friendly against Sweden in Stockholm next Wednesday.
The duo were called into Roy Hodgson's set-up for the first time earlier this season and Shelvey made his England debut as a substitute in the 5-0 rout of San Marino in October.
The 20-year-old is currently in Moscow with the Reds as they prepare for their Europa League clash against Anzhi Makhachkala tonight, while 17-year-old Sterling has not travelled to Russia for the game.
England skipper Steven Gerrard and full-back Glen Johnson have also been named in Hodgson's 23-man squad.
Gerrard is poised to play his 100th game for the Three Lions after reaching a landmark 600th appearance for the Reds against Newcastle on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Stuart Pearce has included captain Jordan Henderson, Andre Wisdom and Jack Robinson in his England U21 squad to face Northern Ireland at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday, November 13.
