He was hailed as one of Liverpool's finest ever full-backs before injury cruelly deprived him in his prime. Now Rob Jones reveals all in his new autobiography, 'Robbed' - available to buy now for just £8.99.

Plucked from the relative obscurity of fourth division Crewe, the boyhood Kopite saw all of his dreams come true when he made a memorable debut for his beloved Liverpool FC within days of swapping the Alex for Anfield.

A majestic performance against Manchester United's Ryan Giggs catapulted him into the national spotlight, leading to international recognition and a fairytale climax to his first season in red as an FA Cup winner.

The lightning quick full-back appeared to have the world at his feet, but injury would cast a shadow over much of his time in L4 culminating in his enforced retirement at the age of just 27.

In this candid autobiography written with Paul Hassall, Jones looks back at his incredible rise to stardom, his relationship with the heroes he once worshipped as a fan and how he came to terms with the heartbreaking news that his career would be cruelly cut short in his prime.

With exclusive contributions from Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman and Jamie Carragher, as well as words from Dario Gradi, Ryan Giggs and Graeme Souness, 'Robbed' tells the full story of a player many regard as the best right-back of his generation.

Carragher said: "When you look back at the best Liverpool full-backs of all-time - not just right-backs - Rob Jones has to be up there."

The manager who signed him for the Reds, Graeme Souness added: "He has to go down as one of the best, if not THE best, signing I made at Liverpool... He should have been a 15-year man for the club because he was good enough to do that. Not many are."
