Johnson: We'll bounce up table
Glen Johnson believes Liverpool's eight-match unbeaten run is indicative of the progress the team are making – and insists a change in fortune in front of goal will propel them up the Barclays Premier League table.
The Reds extended their undefeated sequence in the top flight with Sunday's goalless draw at Swansea City.
Brendan Rodgers' side had opportunities to take all three points from a tight contest and Johnson feels a touch more luck in attack would have yielded a merited victory.
"We deserved more from it and could easily have gone home with a 1-0 or 2-0 win," said the full-back.
"We were the only team who were looking like winning it but we didn't get the goal so we'll have to settle for a point.
"I never felt in any danger but they defended well, dug in and made it difficult for us.
"You need a bit of luck in front of goal and we didn't get that. On another day we would have scored two or three. It just wasn't to be.
"If you can't win a game then you have to make sure you don't lose it, and that's eight games unbeaten.
"It's a good platform for us and once we get a bit of luck in front of goal we will start bouncing up the table.
"We will recover and then on Monday we will start preparing for a big game at Spurs."
Liverpool thought they had found the back of the net in the first half when Jose Enrique swept home a Luis Suarez cross.
However, the raised flag of the referee's assistant ruled the effort out for offside - though Johnson feels a goal should have been awarded.
"I've seen it again and I think it should have been given," he said. "There's no daylight between Jose and the last defender. His feet are in line with him.
"His arm is offside but you can't score with your arm. If it's a part of your body you can't score with then it doesn't matter.
"It's frustrating for us. I can understand why the assistant has flagged for offside but you see them given. The benefit of the doubt should go to the attacker."

On a personal level, Johnson turned in an outstanding display having reverted back to his natural position of right-back at the Liberty Stadium.
The defender gave Swansea much to ponder going forward, and he said: "Ever since I broke into the first team at West Ham, I've always got forward and tried to join in with the attacks.
"I love getting forward and the way Brendan likes us to play with the full-backs high and wide really suits me."
