Jose: Europa? It's a privilege

A win over Udinese will put Liverpool into the last 32 - as will a draw as long as Young Boys do not beat Anzhi.

Enrique is hoping this season's European adventure lasts for as long as possible.

"I want to play in the Europa League," he said. "It is not a funny competition, it is a privilege and that is why we have brought a strong squad because we want to be in the next stage.

"It is not the Champions League, that is the best thing and there is no comparison, but it is another competition and another title you can win.

"It is still Europe and Liverpool have to be there in Europe. You learn a lot from these games against teams from other countries.

"When you play against an Italian team, they are really tactical and that is difficult to play against but it is nice because it is good to play against other teams who play differently.

"It makes you a better player. We all benefit from experiences like this. It is another extra, like when you play for the national team."

Enrique admits his long-term target is to help the Reds reclaim their place among Europe's elite.

"Liverpool before were like Barcelona now," he said. "They were the best team and won five Champions Leagues. Of course we are not at that level now and it is impossible to compare but this is where we want to be.

"We have the right manager, the right players and with money to spend from the owners I hope we can be there as quickly as possible to be able to compete for these kind of titles."
