Our latest review of Liverpool players past and present on Twitter during the last week features a problematic plane and the return of a fan favourite from injury.

The week began with a 1-0 victory over Southampton at Anfield - but the return to action of Lucas Leiva dominated the agenda, with the Brazilian excelling during an 88-minute run-out.

Afterwards the midfielder posted a message: "Very important three points and very happy to be able to play almost full game. Thanks for the reception that I got, it was amazing."

New to Twitter, Daniel Agger was the goalscorer against the Saints and the Danish defender plans to sell his signed shirt from the encounter to raise money for his foundation...

Later in the week, the Reds made their way to Italy for a crucial Europa League tie with Udinese. Jose Enrique took time out from preparation to catch Oussama Assaidi at an impromptu moment...

Jordan Henderson struck the winning goal for Liverpool at the Stadio Friuli, and midfield colleague Jonjo Shelvey was quick to congratulate his teammate.

The 20-year-old tweeted: "Great win out here through to next round .. Absolutely buzzing for Hendo! #tekkers.. #LFC."

A technical problem with their aircraft forced the Reds squad to remain in Italy for an extra night. Youngster Suso provided photographic evidence for the decision...

Former Red Terry McDermott gave his verdict on the away victory in Italy, tweeting: "Great win for Liverpool tonight, never easy going to Italy and getting a result, and it makes it even better that they have won the group."

Ex-Liverpool striker Neil Mellor was in the commentary box for the U21s' 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Friday afternoon - a job he was pleased with.

"Enjoyed watching Liverpool 21s winning again. Beat palace 4-1 with Pacheco,Morgan, yesil and Flanagan scoring. #LFC," Mellor tweeted after the match.
