Enrique made six appearances for Liverpool in November and fired his first goal for the club against Wigan Athletic.

The 26-year-old operated in both his traditional full-back role as well as in a left-wing berth to devastating effect.

Upon being presented with the award at Melwood, Enrique told Liverpoolfc.com: "I feel good - it is the first time I have won the award at the club and it is a pleasure. I hope I can continue my form.

"It was okay [playing in midfield]. I feel comfortable there, although I prefer to play as a left-back as it is my position. But if I have to play there again, it is not a problem.

"I have always been an attacking full-back, so the new position is just more attacking than defending, so I feel good there.

"I want to say thank you very much to the supporters who voted for me. I hope I can continue to play like this and try to help the team as much as I can."

Enrique marked his first goal for the club by sucking his thumb in celebration as he dedicated the strike to his unborn baby boy, Adrian.

He added: "It was an amazing feeling to get my first goal. There are just two/three weeks left until he is born then we will have him here and I can't wait for that."
