Melwood art attack raises money
Three brothers who share a passion for Liverpool FC have unveiled some exclusive artwork at the club's training complex, Melwood.
The Lloyds - 17-year-old twins Dan and Sam plus younger brother Tom, 14 - created three unique pieces of art which were recently auctioned at the Museum of Liverpool's 'Liverpool Love' exhibition.
Liverpool FC purchased the collection, with all proceeds from the sale being donated to Claire House - the children's hospice attended by the siblings during the past 10 years.
The brothers, who are all affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a muscular degenerative disease which affects one in 3,600 boys, have received invaluable support from the organisation.
Ian Ayre, Managing Director of Liverpool Football Club, said: "We are delighted to receive these special pieces of artwork from the lads. The paintings have taken pride of place at Melwood and will be seen every day by all the players when they finish training."
Helen Carlson, Northern Area Manager for Claire House, said: "The Lloyd brothers are a great reflection of the amazing spirit of Merseyside. They all share a love and dedication to Liverpool FC and are honoured to know their pictures are on display at Melwood.
"Claire House understands that life is precious and we strive to give our children and young adults the best care available. The money raised from these paintings will really help us to make a difference to our local children who need us most."
