Andre: How Agger and co help me
Andre Wisdom began 2012 as an aspiring Academy player. A whirlwind 12 months later he is a Melwood regular and thriving on the 'togetherness' that exists among Liverpool's defensive ranks.
The 19-year-old has notched a dozen first-team appearances under Brendan Rodgers so far this season.
Prior to sustaining an injury against Young Boys at Anfield in November, the lad from Leeds was Liverpool's regular right-back.
During that time he held his own against some of the Barclays Premier League's finest players and slotted seamlessly into a Reds back-four alongside the likes of Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel.
"Everybody always ask me what players like Agger and Skrtel say or do to help me on the field," Wisdom told Liverpoolfc.com.
"I think what they give me is encouragement, more than anything. If you make a mistake, they will just tell you to keep going.
"They'll also advise on little things, like how to position yourself and when to drop back. There are many ways that they can help you, but you just feel a sense of togetherness playing alongside them and I think that's vital within a team.
"When you feel part of a team, you express yourself and you play better. And when you are playing alongside the likes of Skrtel, Agger, Carra, Glen Johnson and others across the back four, I don't think you can do much wrong.
"You just go out there and enjoy it and with their guidance you get through."
Key to the youngster's progression this season has been Rodgers, who picked up where the Academy left off in nurturing a talent that could be at the heart of Liverpool sides for years to come.

"He gave me my debut, which I'm grateful for," explained Wisdom. "But he has also placed a lot of confidence in me by playing me in the team because it's hard to play in the Premier League, especially for such a big club like Liverpool.
"He has placed confidence in the young players generally and so hopefully we can reward him by playing well.
"But also the fans have been great as well, they are always positive and encouraging.
"My aim now is just to stay in the first team and hopefully get some more games. I need to enjoy it because it's every boy's dream to be playing in the Premier League, especially for Liverpool. I need to just take everything as it comes and just enjoy the moment."
