Christmas cheer and Raheem returns
Our weekly round-up of the last seven days on Twitter for Reds stars past and present includes plenty of celebration – with a Christmas No.1 and festive cheer dominating the agenda.
Having had a brief sabbatical from Twitter, teenager Raheem Sterling returned to the social media site on Saturday after signing a new long-term deal with the Reds...
And following a handsome 4-0 victory over Fulham later that day, everybody involved with the club was in a celebratory mood - including Lucas Leiva.
The Brazilian midfielder, who remains on the road to full fitness, tweeted: "Great victory today. I felt really well. Slowly I am getting back to my level. YNWA"
The positives continued on Sunday, too, with the announcement that 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother', the Hillsborough charity single, had secured the Christmas No.1 for 2012.
Former Reds Kenny Dalglish and Phil Thompson both offered their congratulations for the achievement immediately after the confirmation that the Justice Collective had reached their goal.
Dalglish posted: "Brilliant that justice collective is Christmas number one. Great early present for all of the families."
His ex-teammate added: "Well done to everyone who bought He Ain't Heavy it was a COLLECTIVE effort. No1 sounds great."
As the week progressed, thoughts naturally turned to Christmas and several members of the Reds' squad used Twitter to send festive messages to the club's supporters.
