As every Saturday, we review the last seven days on Twitter for Reds stars past and present – with the squad celebrating New Year in their own way and the club launching an account in a new language.

As 2012 came to a close, the Reds rounded off the year with a comprehensive victory at Queens Park Rangers - a result which thoroughly pleased midfielder Lucas Leiva...

Manager Brendan Rodgers was forced to miss the match at Loftus Road due to illness, meaning assistant manager Colin Pascoe took the reins - and the win prompted a joke from former defender Gary Gillespie...

Brad Jones was among those to suffer from the bug which affected Rodgers, but he was quick to reassure fans via Twitter...

On the final day of 2012, LFC launched a French Twitter account to continue the club's objective to communicate with fans around the world via social media.

Three of the club's South American stars - Lucas, Luis Suarez and Sebastian Coates - chose to celebrate New Year's Eve together and posted a picture of their evening for fans...

And the positive vibes continued as 2013 began, with the Reds thrashing Sunderland 3-0 at Anfield in their opening game of the year.

Two former Liverpool players used Twitter to voice their pleasure at the result.

Dietmar Hamann tweeted: "Great win for LFC and another clean sheet ... Keep feet on the floor, work hard and you never know what can happen."

And Luis Garcia posted: "Another great win for Liverpool. The Reds get 3 more points few days later with a 3-0 vs Sunderland (Suarez 2 and Sterling )."
