Both Jordan Henderson and Martin Kelly have 'big futures' at international level according to England and Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard.

The 32-year-old enthused to the FA website: "They are two very top lads. They are always trying to learn and develop - day in, day out.

"I think they both have big international futures at senior team level.

"I think Jordan has a lot of similarities to me as a player. He's got a lot of energy and likes to get about the pitch and get his passing game going."

The duo have both been nominated for England's young player of the year award for 2012, but Gerrard admitted he couldn't choose between his club colleagues.

"It's difficult to pick one out," he added.

"They have both had great years and have been very solid as far as international football is concerned."
