Kris Peterson scored a fine goal as Liverpool U18s drew 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion at St George's Park on Wednesday night.

With Saturday's original date postponed due to a frozen Academy surface, it was agreed to play the game at St George's Park on the showpiece pitch at the Football Association's National Football Centre in Burton-Upon-Trent.

Steve Cooper's side played some brilliant football at times and created some glorious opportunities, and could have won the game with skipper Jordan Lussey missing a late penalty.

Jack Dunn had a fine match and he, Jerome Sinclair and Daniel Trickett-Smith all had great chances.

The Baggies took the lead against the run of play but Peterson levelled things up from a pass from Trickett-Smith.

Reflecting on the 90 minutes, U18s boss Steve Cooper told Liverpoolfc.com: "I was really pleased with the performance. We played with the right intention and style and if we play like that we will be alright.

"We did create a lot of chances, we missed a penalty and we just need to be more clinical at times, but overall I've got no complaints because we played some great stuff.

"It was great for the lads to play at St George's Park. The facilities are top class and we enjoyed the experience."
