'He's the perfect manager for me'
Spanish midfielder Suso is thriving on Brendan Rodgers' continental approach to coaching at Liverpool - and the youngster believes the current Reds boss is the ideal man to help him blossom as a player.
Rodgers' arrival in the summer heralded an influx of bright, young talent into the first-team set-up with the likes of Suso, Andre Wisdom and Raheem Sterling handed the opportunity to stake a claim for regular starting XI spots.
The 19-year-old is eager to play his part when the Reds travel to Boundary Park to take on Oldham in the FA Cup on Sunday.
"The manager is placing his trust in young players like me and it's hard to find another manager who gives as many opportunities to young players each week," Suso told Liverpoolfc.com.
"This is a really, really good thing for us.
"I think the manager has a similar approach to Spanish coaches - he has a very Spanish style.
"He always likes us to be on the ball in training and do everything with the ball at our feet and for me personally, it is easier if we do everything with the ball. We try to be in possession all the time.
"I think he is the perfect manager for me."
If he features against Oldham tomorrow, it will be Suso's 19th game in all competitions for the club this season.
However, at the start of the campaign the Reds' No.30, who made his debut against Young Boys in late September, was back at the Academy training with the reserves.
"I remember in the summer I went to the European Championship with Spain," he recalled. "Straight after that I went off to America for the pre-season tour with the first team.
"After that, I came back to the reserves and I was a little bit upset because my aim was to be in the first team but then in the space of about a month and a half, everything changed so quickly.
"I think this massive change has been the most important thing for me this year."
