Daniel Sturridge has been named in Roy Hodgson's England squad to face Brazil next Wednesday, with Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson also selected among the 24-man party.

The international friendly against the 2014 World Cup hosts will take place at Wembley, with Sturridge in line for his fifth appearance for the Three Lions following his instant impact at Anfield.

Johnson could move onto 45 caps for his country, while England skipper Gerrard will begin a brand new century after clocking up his 100th international last November against Sweden.

The match is England's first of 2013, with a double-header of World Cup qualifiers at San Marino and Montenegro to follow at the end of March.

Meanwhile, Jonjo Shelvey, Raheem Sterling, Andre Wisdom, Jack Robinson and Jordan Henderson have been named in the Three Lions' U21 squad for their match with Sweden on Tuesday.
