Lifelong Manchester City fan Oliver McPherson provides the view from the Etihad ahead of today's clash.

What's the mood like at City?

Mood as a fan right now is good, in my opinion. I'm sure other fans will tell you otherwise because we 'didn't sign so and so, and this player is rubbish' and I think every club has that, but for me everything is great. We're in a good position in the league and we'll catch United. I'm sure of it.

Thoughts on your gaffer?

He's fantastic - and any City fan who tells you otherwise doesn't know football. I'm sure he's not everyone's cup of tea, but to win the FA Cup followed by the Premier League title says it all for me. I wasn't too sure about the signings last summer, but I don't think Mancini had too much control by the sounds of it. Nastasic looks the part, but the rest are yet to convince me. Plenty of time for that though!

Balotelli. Discuss...

I think it was probably the right time for him to leave. He hasn't really featured often this season, but he played his part in our recent successes. I wish him nothing but the best.

Best way to win at the Etihad?

I'm not sure these days, to be honest, as we don't tend to lose many. Early in the season we were conceding a lot from set pieces, but we haven't conceded in our last six games. We tend to try and dominate possession, so personally I'd pack the midfield and play quickly on the break.

Weak links?

I think any team would miss Kompany and Toure and so I'm more concerned about the back four than the midfield. Barry and Milner will hold their own with anyone, but Mancini doesn't seem to be convinced with Lescott or the idea of two left-footed centre-backs. I think Garcia will play centre-back alongside Nastasic if he's fit, so perhaps he'll be someone to target early on.

Who can hurt Liverpool?

David Silva. When he's on form, he's on the verge of unplayable. Probably the most gifted player I've ever seen.

Liverpool player you'd most like to sign?

Suarez. He's a fantastic player and has that will to win that all successful teams need - never gives up and plays for the shirt. He's just a wonderful footballer.

Best and worst thing about being a City fan?

Best thing about being a City fan is the supporters. We've been through it all over the years but we've never stopped loving this club. Worst thing is probably having to listen to United fans...

Prediction?

I think it'll be a good game and hopefully we'll edge it. I'll go for a 2-0 with Tevez scoring first.
