Young Reds edged out by Wolves
Liverpool U18s slipped to a narrow defeat against Wolves on Saturday after a hard-fought encounter finished 1-0 to the hosts in Birmingham.
It was the young Reds' first domestic game since January 23 due to postponements and the recent trip to Qatar for the prestigious Al-Kass Cup.
Steve Cooper, U18s boss, spoke to Liverpoolfc.com after the game. He said: "It was a hard-fought match on a difficult pitch and I think we found it hard to get our passing game going.
"We created enough chances to win the game - there were three or four clear-cut opportunities. We didn't take them and if you don't take your chances, then you can't expect to take anything from the game.
"We gave Wolves a chance to get into the game and I think we would like to play a bit more football and be more clinical in future.
"That said, the boys worked hard today and there were some mature performances out there on the pitch. We'll re-group and go again against Sunderland in a week's time."
