If he continues his goalscoring streak against Wigan on Saturday evening, Daniel Sturridge could create a Reds landmark. Find out how and pore over all of the pre-match stats courtesy of Ged Rea.

In each of the last three seasons, including this one, Liverpool have had 39 points after 27 league games.

Liverpool's biggest league win over Wigan came on this ground in December 2006 when they won 4-0, with all the goals coming in the first half. Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt were among the scorers that day.

Their last victory on the ground came in September 2007 when substitute Yossi Benayoun scored the only goal.

Liverpool have failed to score in only two of the last 15 league meetings.

Only one player has scored a hat-trick for Liverpool against Wigan. In a League Cup tie in 1989, Steve Staunton became the first substitute in Liverpool's history to score three goals in a game, a feat only equalled by Steven Gerrard in November 2010 against Napoli.

Gerrard's next goal will see him equal Michael Owen's tally of 158 goals for the club.

If Sturridge scores, he will reach five Barclays Premier League goals for the club in fewer games than any other Reds player. He has scored four goals in five appearances. Robbie Fowler scored his first five in eight games.

Sturridge scored on this ground for Chelsea in a 1-1 league draw in December 2011.

The Reds have already scored two more league goals than they did in the whole of last season, with 11 games of this campaign remaining.

They have scored 30 goals in their last 12 league games.

The Reds have kept two clean sheets in 13 away league games - with the last coming at Queens Park Rangers on the penultimate day of 2012.

This will be Luis Suarez's 90th game for Liverpool in league and cup. In his first 45 games he scored 16 goals. He has found the net 30 times in his last 44 appearances.

Suarez is two goals away from becoming the first Liverpool player to score 20 league goals in a campaign since Fernando Torres five seasons ago. Suarez has 18 goals in 26 Premier League appearances this season.

Liverpool's win over Zenit St Petersburg last week was the first time this season the Reds have conceded the first goal of a game and gone on to win the match.

Wigan are playing in the Premier League for the eighth successive season - a longer run than 10 of the current top-flight teams.

The Latics' only home win over Liverpool came in March 2010 when Hugo Rodallega scored the only goal.

In the seven fixtures at Wigan the Latics have scored only three times against Liverpool, and have never scored more than once against the Merseysiders in front of their home fans.

They have won just two of 13 home games this season in the top flight. They defeated West Ham (2-1) in October and in November beat Reading 3-2.

The Latics have kept four clean sheets away from home but none at the DW stadium. Only Reading (three) have kept fewer clean sheets in the Premier League this season.

They have conceded 27 goals at home this season - the most in the top flight along with Reading.
