LFC agrees new energy-saving policy
As part of the Reds' commitment to the environment and energy usage, this week Liverpool FC signed a new energy and carbon policy to reduce the club's consumption by ten per cent in 2013.
Andrew Parkinson, operations director, said: "This new policy demonstrates our commitment to reducing the club's energy and carbon consumption."
Liverpool will also be powering down all of its sites this Saturday, March 23, as the world unites to support the Earth Hour campaign.
The club will be switching off its lights from 8.30pm - 9.30pm in all of its offices and shops across Liverpool, and at its home - Anfield stadium.
Earth Hour is the largest, symbolic mass participation event in the world to mobilise people to take action on climate change. Millions of people in more than 7,000 cities and towns across 152 countries switch off lights for an hour as a massive show of concern for the environment.
"We all have a responsibility and our participation in this year's Earth Hour isn't just about saving energy for one hour, it's about going beyond the hour with lasting, behaviour-changing actions to play our part for a sustainable planet," added Parkinson.
