Hillsborough hearing scheduled for April
The process of fresh inquests into how 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives at the Hillsborough disaster in April 1989 will begin next month.
A pre-inquest hearing is scheduled to take place in London on April 25, it was confirmed by the Judicial Office on Friday.
During the hearing the coroner, Lord Justice Goldring, will outline the terms and scope of the inquest while family members and other interested parties will have an opportunity to raise any queries.
The date and location of the inquests are still to be decided, with the families calling for a venue in Liverpool or nearby. The government has pledged to hold the inquests at the earliest possible time.
The move comes after Attorney General Dominic Grieve made a successful application for the original verdicts of accidental death to be quashed in December last year.
Taking into account the findings of the Hillsborough Independent Panel report, published in September 2012, the High Court officially overturned the original inquests.
