Suarez and co suffer in Chile
Luis Suarez played the full 90 minutes for Uruguay in their World Cup qualifier against Chile on Tuesday night but could not prevent his country from suffering a 2-0 reverse.
The 26-year-old was on target with a perfect volley on Friday for La Celeste, who were defeated on this occasion in Santiago by goals from Esteban Paredes and Eduardo Vargas.
Suarez's Liverpool teammate Sebastian Coates was an unused substitute, while the Reds' No.7 picked up a booking.
Uruguay are now sixth in the South American standings, with a trip to Venezuela in June next on their agenda as they attempt to reach the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
