Liverpool Ladies secured progression to the semi-finals of the Women's FA Cup on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 away victory over Sunderland.

Matt Beard's side continued their unbeaten start to the new campaign at the Academy of Light, courtesy of a late winning goal from Katrin Omarsdottir.

Lillie Fenlon-Billson opened the scoring in the 13th minute for the Ladies, driving home from the edge of the area after being teed up by teammate Louise Fors.

But Sunderland responded within five minutes of the second half getting underway, Beth Mead beating goalkeeper Sarah Quantrill with a rebound.

But Omarsdottir made the decisive impact during the closing moments of the tie - volleying home to claim victory.
