Do you think if you carry on your current form, you will get an England call-up?

I'll keep working hard and playing well, and keep getting in the squad for the U21s. We've got the championships in the summer and then hopefully if I keep progressing I'll get another chance to play for the seniors. I've really enjoyed being captain of the U21s - it's a great honour to captain your country at any level. I take great pride in that and make sure I try to lead by example. The lads have been brilliant in the U21s so hopefully we can keep our run going and stay positive for the summer.

What would you say is your best attribute?

In my game, I tend to like to get on the ball and get my passing going - long, short and varying my passing up. I make sure I get about the pitch, closing down and pressuring people, and then getting forward into the box to try to get a goal as well. I need to improve on a lot of things; I try to improve every day when I'm training. Getting more goals from midfield is definitely one area that I've concentrated on quite a lot. Hopefully I can improve on that.

What kept you believing when you weren't getting game time at the start of the season?

I think you're going to have times where you might not be playing, you might not be in favour for whatever reason. You've just got to believe in yourself and your own ability, and make sure that you work hard and you're working harder than everybody else. If you're doing that, I'm sure you'll get a chance to play and when that chance comes you've got to be ready to take it. Hopefully when I get my chance, I'll be ready to take it again.

Why aren't you on Twitter?

I think I can see both sides. It's good to interact with fans and get your relationship with the outside world. But on the other side of it, a lot of bad things can come of it. As you've seen on the television, if you say something wrong anything might happen. I don't think it's a great idea. I tend to keep myself to myself off the pitch and keep my head down, because at the end of the day we just want to play football - that's the main thing. With my friends, I play on FIFA and stuff like that. But when it comes to Twitter and Facebook I'm not really that interested, to be honest.

Would you hire me as your car driver? £3k a month would be fine, thanks...

I can drive so I think I'm alright with that one, but thanks for the offer anyway. I'm fine driving myself.

Luis Suarez's gun celebration or Daniel Sturridge's dance celebration?

I'm not sure, to be honest. I think Sturridge's dance celebration is pretty funny. Either one of them as long as they both keep scoring - I'm not really bothered.

Talk us through your goal celebration against Arsenal...

It probably wasn't the best celebration in the world. I need to do one of them to make it better. It's an amazing feeling when you score a goal, especially when it's in a big game like that; just pure emotion and passion. I haven't scored that many so it's always nice to get a goal.

Who has the worst banter in the squad?

The lads have got pretty good banter - we get on quite well, to be honest. Obviously some people are not that fluent in English so we might not hear the banter as much. But, to be fair, everybody has some good banter. If I had to choose one, I'd probably say Jose. I struggle sometimes with Scouse but I'm sure they struggle with my accent as well, so I think it works both ways.

Were you embarrassed when you were spotted at a Justin Bieber concert? Are you a Belieber?

Obviously not! I took my little sister, I know it's an excuse but she wanted to go for her birthday so I said I would take her. She kept reminding me so I went with my girlfriend and a couple of friends and took my little sister to watch it. It was alright, to be honest - more for kids. He has got a few good songs but I tend to keep that on the quiet.

Do you think your generation at LFC can win the league?

I think we've definitely improved over the last year and keep getting better. If we keep working hard, keep improving as players and as a team, then I definitely think we can be successful and win many trophies.

How do you keep your hair so perfect?

I put gel on my hair; the lads say I put too much on but I don't really. When it's long I've got to put a little bit more on so it doesn't go ridiculous. When it's short I don't need to do anything. The best thing to do is get your hair cut short so you don't have to do as much.

If you could take another teammate's hairstyle and model yours on that, who would you choose?

It definitely wouldn't be Jose's, he's had a different hairstyle recently. I don't think there's anyone, I'd stick with my own. Suso's is alright but I'm alright with mine.

If a tree falls in a forest and nobody is around to hear it - does it make a sound?

Eh? What am I meant to say to that? Next...

What's the best advice you could give to a young lad who wants to be a pro?

The main thing when you're young is to enjoy playing football, make sure you work hard and give it everything you've got if that's what you want to do. Make sure you don't have any regrets, don't look back and say 'I could have done this more, I could have done that.' You've just got to give everything you've got and then at least you know you've got peace of mind. But you've got to enjoy playing as well, and work on the things that you think you need to improve on to become a professional footballer.

What do you hope to achieve in football by the time you retire?

There are a lot of things I would like to achieve; to become very successful at Liverpool and a successful team. And obviously to play for England and be successful there as well. It's just to be successful for Liverpool and England, and win as many trophies as you can.
