Liverpool Football Club have released the following information regarding the sale of tickets for away matches.

Following some feedback from the Supporters' Committee, we would like to take the opportunity to provide some more background around away sales and how the tickets are sold.

In particular there is a perception that away sales are a closed shop. Although it may take supporters a few seasons to build up their purchase history, figures would suggest that it is certainly not impossible, with many games requiring low purchase history or even general sale.

Below is a summary of Premier League games for 2011-12 and for the current season so far that have either required low purchase history or none at all -

2011-12

Of the 19 Premier League away games sold:

* Three games went to general sale.
* One game sold out to all season ticket holders, members and fan card holders.
* Three games sold out to those who had purchased a minimum of three Premier League games from season 2010-11.
* Two games sold out to those who had purchased a minimum of four Premier League games from season 2010-11.

2012-13

Of the 17 Premier League away games sold so far:

* Wigan sold out to those who had purchased a minimum of one Premier League game from season 2011-12.
* Three games sold out to those who had purchased a minimum of three Premier League games from season 2011-12.
* Three games sold out to those who had purchased a minimum of four Premier League games from season 2011-12.

As an example, a member with no previous Premier League away attendance who purchased the four games that were available to him/her from season 2011-12 would have been eligible to purchase seven Premier League away games so far this season.
