Alex Inglethorpe has spoken of his admiration for on loan striker Michael Ngoo and believes he will benefit greatly from his time with Hearts.

The big striker fired two superb goals for the Jambos in their 4-2 win over Ross County last weekend, taking his tally to four goals in 11 appearances in addition to numerous assists.

Ngoo has proved to be a big hit with the Hearts supporters and the club had a special t-shirt made in his honour (pictured).

Liverpool U21s boss Inglethorpe might have only worked with him briefly since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur, but the striker has clearly made a big impression on him.

"He's a goal machine in Scotland, isn't he?" Inglethorpe told Liverpoolfc.com.

"He's such a good lad as well. I only had a couple of brief months working with him when I arrived here but I loved every moment of it.

"He's an infectious character. I speak to him after every game and his goal celebration last weekend was a bit of an in joke between me and him!

"I thought he took both goals really well. The first goal was a proper centre-forward's header and the second one he smashed in from outside the box and we know he can do that.

"The big man is capable of that sort of finish and he's a terrific boy."

Ngoo also had the experience of playing in the Scottish League Cup final in which he provided an assist in the 3-2 defeat by St Mirren.

"I think that's the beauty of when a loan is successful," he added.

"No disrespect to the U21 league but there's probably a bit of a gap between that and the first team so often that gap is bridged by a decent loan spell.

"Sometimes like Raheem (Sterling) you can miss that loan out and show enough promise to step right into the first team, but the most important thing is when you send someone out on loan that the player continues to improve."
