How Carra led the comeback
Opta statistics show that Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher played a significant part in the Reds' comeback against Chelsea on Sunday – both defensively and offensively.
The 35-year-old made nine clearances at Anfield - at least three more than any other player on the pitch - and won the single tackle he entered against the Blues. Carragher also made one interception.
But it was in the duels department where the Reds centre-back particularly excelled. The No.23 won 85.7 per cent of the total duels he participated in and was victorious in each of the aerial battles he contested.
No defender on either team could match those figures - with Daniel Agger and David Luiz equal second best in terms of duels with 55.6 per cent, while the same pair each made six clearances.
Carragher's passing on Sunday was also exemplary. He attempted 56 passes, of which 92.9 per cent found the desired teammate - figures bettered only by Agger (96.2 per cent).
