Reds mark decade in Scandinavia
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Liverpool FC delivering football coaching in the Scandinavian region, during which time more than 20,000 young players have learnt to play the 'Liverpool Way'.
To celebrate a decade of developing youth in the region, this summer the club will provide an extensive range of official Liverpool FC International Academy Soccer Schools across Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Approximately 5,000 young players will benefit from the coaching, between June and August, delivered by Liverpool FC International Academy coaches.
The specialist programme runs over three days for outfield players and goalkeepers and is designed to develop the potential of every child that attends. Benefits include enhancing their confidence, improving their ball skills and ensuring courses are enjoyable and rewarding.
The technical sessions have been developed to align with the club's current Academy, providing a true Liverpool experience for all participants. The fundamental principle of the courses is to promote 'fun with learning' in the pursuit of technical excellence.
"We're extremely proud of the relationships we have built over the years in the Scandinavian region and the volume of players that have been coached on the scheme," said the club's Chief Commercial Officer, Billy Hogan.
"It's great to be heading back again this summer with a programme that goes from strength to strength, giving thousands of kids a genuine Liverpool experience.
"Liverpool FC is committed to the development of young footballers both as players and as people. This vision runs through the whole football club from the men's first team, women's first team, the Academy and the Liverpool FC International Academy Soccer Schools."
Liverpool legend Ian Rush added: "I'm an ambassador for the Liverpool FC International Football Academy and I have taken part in many of the programmes.
"What the kids take away with them is a fantastic experience that has helped them not only with their football skills but their confidence, teamwork and motivation too."
