Gerrard our 'Team of Year' king
Luis Suarez became the first Liverpool player in four years to be named in the PFA Team of the Year this weekend - but which players historically have made the cut?
Steven Gerrard has been our most prolific entrant into the select 11 since the inaugural 1973-74 team - earning a place on seven occasions (2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009).
Alan Hansen is just behind Gerrard on six, with Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush both named in the Team of the Year five times.
Our best ever year for representation was 1982-83, when Mark Lawrenson, Hansen, Graeme Souness, Sammy Lee, Rush and Dalglish were all deemed worthy of a spot by their peers.
