Trustees to distribute single proceeds
The Justice Collective have appointed three trustees to the charity that will distribute all monies raised from the sales of 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother'.
The poignant single reached Christmas No.1 in December 2012.
Featuring the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams and Mel C, all proceeds were pledged towards the Hillsborough families' ongoing fight for justice.
And today, at the request of Walton MP, Steve Rotheram, appointments were made to help oversee the distribution of funds.
David Tomkins, who is the apolistic administrator for the Archdiocese of Liverpool, will join Bishop Tom Williams and Liverpool Echo editor Alastair Machray.
The trio will be tasked with developing the charity's terms of reference and qualifying criteria for the charitable fund.
Rotheram said: "I am delighted that the trustees have accepted my invitation to oversee the distribution of the monies raised.
"With the three trustees, we have the right level of experience and understanding of the Hillsborough disaster.
"The families can be confident that the monies will be distributed effectively and efficiently as they pursue the legal fight for justice for the 96."
