Reds fan to join 'Run for Muamba'
A Liverpool supporter will join a fan from each of the other 19 Barclays Premier League clubs to participate in the Great Manchester Run, which will be started by Fabrice Muamba later this month.
The former Bolton midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest during a match against Tottenham in March 2012, but survived after receiving immediate treatment and subsequent specialist care.
Muamba has since helped to support the Hearts and Goals campaign and will be the official starter of the 10k running event - which will take place on Sunday, May 26, 2013.
Reds fan Daniel Jones will be part of a 20-man team of Premier League supporters who run in their respective club's jersey to show unity for Fabrice and celebrate his remarkable recovery.
Fabrice said: "I was delighted to be asked along to set the 40,000 runners on their way and it represents a great opportunity for the Hearts and Goals campaign to raise money for their vital work."
To support runners taking part in the event you can text your donation by using JustTextGiving, to help ensure all communities have public-access defibrillators and more people in the UK are AED and CPR trained.
For example, if you wanted to donate £3 text FABS25 £3 to 70070. The text costs nothing to send and 100 per cent of every penny donated goes to the campaign. Gift Aid can easily be added.
