Natasha Dowie was on the mark as Liverpool Ladies edged past Doncaster Belles to a 1-0 victory in their Continental Cup clash on Saturday evening.
Dowie pounced after the interval to fire Matt Beard's side in front and the Reds were unlucky not to seal a 2-0 victory late on when they had the ball in the net; however, the goal was ruled out.
Beard reflected: "Overall we created plenty of chances and we could have scored more goals.
"Natasha took her goal very well - it was a good goal and that's her third of the season already. I'm pleased with tonight's result - it was a tough game."
