Lucas & Hendo watch Anfield final
Lucas Leiva and Jordan Henderson were on hand to congratulate the winners of the eighth annual Premier League Schools Tournament, which took place at Anfield for the first time last week.
Over 300 young footballers were involved in the event, which was watched by around 1,000 spectators.
Boys from Corpus Christi Primary School, representing Fulham, and girls from Congleton High school, representing Stoke, were crowned champions in the U11 and U13 age groups respectively.
Lucas said: "Today has been fantastic. It is great to see the kids enjoying themselves and getting a unique opportunity to play at Anfield.
"As a kid I dreamt about playing at a stadium like this, and I'm sure this is an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives."
The Premier League Schools Tournament is all about increasing participation in football for boys and girls, and offers schools nationwide the chance to team up with their local Premier League club.
Each of the 20 league clubs staged their own regional competition to select a school to represent them in the finals at Anfield.
Liverpool's official mascot Mighty Red provided entertainment and posed for photos before helping Henderson and Lucas hand out the medals.
Earlier last week, the Liverpool FC Foundation, the club's official charity, delivered football coaching sessions to schools representing the Reds at the tournament.
Professional coaches from the Foundation's Football for All programme, which encourages young people to use sport as a facilitator to inspire positive change, visited St John Bosco Art College and Plantation Primary School, to provide essential training and boost confidence ahead of the big day.
