Jamie Carragher conducted his final official interview as a Liverpool player this week – but as the defender prepares to retire, we've dug out his first-ever on-camera chat from some 17 years ago.

A fresh-faced Carra is named as 'One to Watch' by the then official LFC monthly video series way back at the start of the 1996-97 season.

In the interview, he states his hopes for breaking into the first team and reveals why he hopes to one day swap squad number from 23 to 8.
