White donates Melwood pool table
Liverpool players now have an extra leisure option after training concludes at Melwood courtesy of a brand new pool table donated to the club by snooker legend Jimmy White.
The 51-year-old, who has finished runner-up at the snooker world championship on six occasions, provided the club's training complex with the new table, which features a 'JFT 96' emblem on the baize.
Fans of snooker have the opportunity to see White and other famous professionals in action in Liverpool when the Snooker Legends Exhibition takes place at the Echo Arena's Auditorium Liverpool next month.
White will be joined by seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry, Steve Davis and Liverpool's own John Parrott for a special tournament on Saturday, June 1.
John Virgo will also be in attendance to provide expert analysis and entertain the crowd, with top snooker referee Michaela Tabb officiating.
Virgo said: "Ever since we started the Legends Tour I've wanted to play in Liverpool, I am so thrilled to finally get that chance."
Tickets - priced at £20 for adults and £15 for U16s - can be purchased by calling the Echo Arena box office on 0844 8000 400 or visiting the website>>
