Stars support #getwellsoontomo
The family of lifelong Liverpool fan Thomas Niblock have appealed for people to give blood after he was recently diagnosed with leukaemia.
The 21-year-old from Netherton has been inundated with messages of support on Twitter from celebrities such as Piers Morgan and Gary Lineker, with Reds legend Robbie Fowler offering his best wishes too as #getwellsoontomo trended on the social media website.
Our former No.9 said: "@TNiblock has just had some terrible news, and is fighting... with chemo. Some words of encouragement would be nice."
Meanwhile Morgan added: "Very sorry to hear @TNiblock has been diagnosed with leukaemia. Wishing you a speedy recovery. #getwellsoontomo"
Despite the sad news, Thomas, his family and friends remain upbeat and have been overwhelmed by messages of support, and are hopeful that he will make a full recovery.
So far just under £3,000 has been raised for leukaemia and lymphoma research after friends shaved their heads, and also via donations from well-wishers.
There was even a banner on display shortly before the Reds' match at Fulham earlier this month, reading: 'Get well soon Tomo' - pictures of the tribute received multiple re-tweets.
Thomas and his family have urged people to become registered blood donors and they can do so by clicking here>>
