Four Liverpool youngsters paid a visit to Alder Hey ahead of Thursday's three-peak challenge in memory of Stephen Packer, which will look to raise funds for the children's hospital.

Stephen was a Liverpool U9s player who sadly passed away in November last year after a brave battle with cancer.

The youngster was cared for by staff at Alder Hey and so members of the Academy are aiming to give something back to the hospital.

Yalany Baio, who will be involved in the gruelling three-peak hike on Thursday, joined Connor Randall, Nathan Burke and Jordan Williams, who are unable to take part due to injury and rehabilitation, for a tour of the hospital's wards.

Along the way, they stopped to pose for pictures and chat to some of the young patients.

On Thursday, a group of 25 Academy staff led by Frank McParland and Stephen's mum and dad will take on the Yorkshire three-peak challenge to raise vital funds for Alder Hey.

So far, they have raised more than £5,000 but they still need your help to raise as much as possible for such a worthwhile cause.

McParland wrote about the forthcoming walk in his Liverpoolfc.com column on Sunday: "I want to ask you to help us raise vital funds for Alder Hey children's hospital, who cared so brilliantly for Stephen and who work wonders helping children, not just in Liverpool, but around the country.

"Let's do what we do best here at Liverpool Football Club and come together in order to raise these vital funds for such a worthy cause, in memory of Stephen."
