A host of sporting names have been added to the bill for BBC Radio 5 Live's Big Day Out, which will take place at the Echo Arena on Saturday, June 1.

Former Liverpool forward John Aldridge will join hosts Colin Murray, Robbie Savage and Mark Chapman for the live event.

Comedian Angelos Epithemiou, famous for his appearances on BBC Two's Shooting Stars, will open the show.

Scouse heavyweight boxer David Price will make a guest appearance as two of Five Live's iconic sports shows are recorded live.

First, presenter Murray will keep order on a special edition of the ever popular sports panel show Fighting Talk, where some of the show's favourite guests will battle to take points for punditry.

The panel has now been confirmed and stepping into the ring will be Everton legend Peter Reid, John Rawling, Bob Mills and Justin Moorhouse who will vie to be crowned the ultimate Fighting Talk champion.

A special version of 606 - the popular football phone-in - will then take place before Primal Scream take to the stage to top off what promises to be a brilliant night with an exclusive live set featuring tracks from their latest album.

The event kicks off at 5.30pm BST. For further details, visit BBC Radio 5 Live's Big Day Out's official website>>
