Throughout 2012-13, the official LFC matchday programme ran a series of quirky interviews with a first-team star ahead of each home game.

For each Anfield clash, questions were put to each player to discover more about their careers and lives away from the pitch.

Over the next few weeks, Liverpoolfc.com will be reproducing those interviews for you to enjoy - and we continue the 'In My Life' series today with Raheem Sterling, who explains why he'd pick Steven Gerrard for his fantasy football team...

First game you watched live...

I was very lucky because it was at Wembley a few years ago when Arsenal played Chelsea in the FA Cup final. I wasn't really bothered which team won but the atmosphere was amazing. It makes you want to play there too.

First pair of boots...

It was a pair of Nike Tiempo; the very simple black ones with the white tick. I've always liked Nike and I'm fortunate to have a boot deal with them now.

First goal...

I must have scored a few before this, but the first one I remember was for Copland, my school. I get as much enjoyment from scoring as I do from making assists.

Favourite shirt number...

I honestly don't mind. In the youth teams, I was either 11 or 7. For the first team, I've got 31 - which is nice because nobody's really taken that shirt as their own before. But I'll take whatever I'm given.

Favourite shirt swap...

I managed to swap one with Carlos Tevez after the Manchester City game. He's a great player.  I was pleased with that one and it was nice that he agreed to swap with me.

Favourite player...

Most boys my age will say Messi or Ronaldo and I'm no different, especially because I play in a similar position. I'm very lucky to have someone like Luis Suarez in the same team as me too. I can learn a lot from him.

Stadium you'd like to play in...

This time last year, I would have said Anfield in a competitive first team game for Liverpool. It's an amazing place, with all the history. Whenever I see the Nou Camp on TV, I always think I'd like to play there for Liverpool as well. Everything seems so big; the pitch, the stands.

Fantasy football pick...

It's an obvious one, but I'd go for Steven Gerrard. He scores a lot from midfield anyway, but the fact he takes most free kicks and penalties as well means that he's always going to weigh in with a fair number of points.

Ex-player I'd like to play with...

Zinedine Zidane. He had everything; the control, the passing range, the strength and generally there was always an end product. I don't think anyone gets close to him. Apart from maybe Messi but for totally different reasons.

Worst movie ever seen...

Any teen girl movie. I can't sit through them. Give me an action movie any day of the week.

Best place for a holiday...

It has to be Jamaica. I was born there and go back as much as possible. The thing I like the most is the people, the weather and the food.

Other sportsmen...

Jamaica is lucky to have so many great personalities at the moment. I look up to Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake. They are unbelievable athletes and people. Both of them were so far away better than any of the other people they were running against in the Olympics. It was awesome.

Snappiest dresser...

I'm struggling with that one. Glen Johnson isn't bad.

Weirdest dresser...

It's not necessarily weird, it's just funny - Jose Enrique wears really tight clothes.

Loudest...

Pepe Reina or Jamie Carragher. On the pitch, they are very loud but off it they're loud too. It's important to have people like that in the squad, especially when you're young like me.

Moaner...

It was Craig Bellamy when he was here. Everybody liked him because he just wanted to win. But if he was unhappy about something, he'd let you know.

Brightest...

Ryan McLaughlin in the youth team is very switched on. He was one of the youngest lads in the squad that went to America but you can tell that he's brighter than most.
