Borini: I'm still figuring out Scouse
Fabio Borini has explained why he's still getting to grips with the local dialect in Liverpool and insisted he is the best chef among the Reds squad.
The Italian was answering questions for the official LFC matchday programme's 'In My Life' feature, which we are currently reproducing on Liverpoolfc.com.
Each Liverpool player faced these posers throughout 2012-13 to reveal more about their careers and lives away from football. Read on for the full chat with Fabio...

First team...
When I was very young it was Juventus. That was when I first got into football. I would have been around five or six years old and they were my team.
First boots...
I still have them in my bedroom at home in Italy. It was a pair of Asics. They are black and white with a purple sole.
Favourite shirt...
It was a Juve home kit with Alessandro del Piero's name and the No.10 on the back. I loved it.
Shirt number...
No.29 because it relates to a lot of important days in my life such as a debut or a first goal. I was born on that date and it's also got some significance for my parents and my sister.
First game watched...
I'm not certain but it probably would've been AC Milan v Juventus in a competition called the Berlusconi Cup. It was a pre-season tournament. My dad took me to it for three or four years in a row when I was a kid and I really enjoyed it.
Football in the family...
They weren't huge football supporters before I started playing. My dad became more interested because of my career but my mum and sister still don't follow it. I don't mind.
Wish I'd played in...
The final of the 2012 European Championship when Italy lost to Spain. I was on the bench and it would've been nice to get the opportunity to help the team.
Boyhood hero...
Alessandro del Piero. He was the best player in the Juventus team. Roberto Baggio was another No.10 that I liked.
Idol...
I know he's a lot older but it's still Alessandro del Piero. He plays for Sydney in the Australian League now.
Most skilful...
I've played with Mario Balotelli for Italy a few times so it has to be him.
Smartest...
Miralem Pjanic, who is a midfielder for Roma and wears No.15. He's Bosnian and is very, very intelligent.
Other sports...
During the summer I watched the London Olympics almost every day. I used to compete in a lot of athletics. The 100 metres was probably my favourite event and I also liked the longer distance races. My sister used to participate in athletics too.
Sounds...
Destiny's Child were one of my favourites a few years ago.
First gig...
About three years ago I went to see Coldplay at Wembley. That was the first ever concert I went to. It was really enjoyable.
If I hadn't been a footballer...
If I hadn't played football I might have become an interior designer. At school back in Italy I had thought about doing that job. It appealed to me and I probably would've gone on to university to study it.
Learning the language...
Obviously I can speak Italian and English. I understand a lot of Spanish and French too if people speak very slowly. Scouse is more difficult. I'm still trying to figure it out.
Cooking skills...
I know some players don't cook but I live by myself and I'm Italian so I do most nights. I'm not sure I have a speciality or a favourite recipe. I often make pasta dishes and I can also make good salads.
Melwood masterchefs...
I don't know if any of the lads can cook. I'd guess some of the younger lads like Raheem probably can't. The best? [Laughs] I'll go for myself.
Living in Italy...
I lived in Rome for a year and I think it is a great place. For tourists there is a lot to see, I don't think you could get around it all in just one visit. You would probably have to go there two or three times to see everything. Florence is one of my favourite cities too. Again there is a lot to see. It's very beautiful.
