A heart-warming documentary which charts Liverpool Academy staff and players' progress as they take on a gruelling Yorkshire three-peak challenge in memory of Stephen Packer will air on LFC TV at 9pm BST on Tuesday night.

Stephen was a promising Liverpool U9 player, who sadly lost his brave battle with cancer in November 2012.

As a fitting tribute to the much-loved youngster, a team of walkers conquered a demanding 25-mile hike in less than nine hours to raise vital funds for Alder Hey Children's hospital in May this year.

Academy director Frank McParland completed the trek, as did a group of Liverpool starlets including Yalany Baio and Nathan Burke.

Stephen's mum, dad and granddad also finished the walk, despite the severe weather conditions.

LFC TV's Jake Hargreaves and cameraman Ricky Mears joined the fundraisers as they took on the challenge - and in tonight's documentary, they bring you exclusive footage and interviews from the hike.

But first, the film reflects on Stephen and the impression he made at the club's Academy during his time there.

There are heartfelt tributes from Stephen's family and members of staff at the club's Kirkby complex, including academy director McParland, head of local recruitment Ian Barrigan and assistant academy manager Phil Roscoe.

Brendan Rodgers, Jamie Carragher, Steven Gerrard and managing director Ian Ayre feature in the documentary.

And there's also footage from the unveiling of the Stephen Packer memorial pitch in the poignant documentary, which will air for the first time on LFC TV at 9pm tonight.

Donations have been pouring in since the challenge was completed - and they continue to do so. Over £9,000 has been raised for Alder Hey - a hospital which cares for children the length and breadth of the country.

The Academy would be extremely grateful if you could help them raise even more.
